It’s no surprise that Durango provides Best-in-Class V6 and V8 towing, allowing you to tow up to 6,200 lbs with the standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine. When equipped with the available 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine (as shown above), the new 2014 Durango offers trailer tow capability of up to 7,400 lbs.
50/50 Weight Distribution
Having the engine up front and the drive axle in the rear gives the Durango a near 50/50 weight distribution. During acceleration, weight shifts to the drive axle to increase down force and help improve traction.
Sway Control
Standard Trailer Sway Control+ applies brake pressure on alternating wheels and may adjust engine throttle to help eliminate sway and maintain vehicle and trailer system stability.
Smoother Transitions of Power
Dodge Durango now comes standard with the new fully-electronic, class-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission, providing better fuel economy+, quicker acceleration and smoother shifting. The class-exclusive electronic rotary shift knob+ adds a level of interior refinement, while standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters help provide precise manual control of the eight-speed transmission.

Adaptive Cruise Control
Available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop is a driver-assist feature that uses a radar sensor to detect vehicles ahead. When you have cruise control initiated, and slower traffic is detected ahead, ACC will automatically adjust your vehicle’s cruising speed to help maintain your set distance using throttle control and limited braking. When necessary, it will slow to a complete, controlled stop in an effort to help prevent a collision.
Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation
The available Forward Collision Warning System+ uses radar sensors to detect when your vehicle may be approaching another vehicle too quickly. When the system detects a potentially hazardous situation, it alerts you by sounding a chime and displaying a visual message in the instrument panel and may apply a brake jerk to warn the driver of a potential collision so the driver can respond to the situation.
Back Up Assistance
Help avoid potential accidents by taking advantage of the available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System and the ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera.
